Professional comedian Alex Kitson is attending June’s Southampton’s Open Mic Comedy Night which is promising to be a great fun night out.

The Attic’s Comedy Open Mic Night event in Southampton is sure to have you cracking up. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, so even those completely new to stand-up comedy can feel comfortable trying it.

Professional performing comedians also come as guests and are always looking for audience feedback as they test out their new material. So please don’t be shy about offering your thoughts.

Alex Kitson

“Alex Kitson is an “on the money funny” award-winning stand-up comedian, performer and writer. New on the comedy scene in 2018 he has performed across the UK, written for both the BBC (‘Incredible… So clever’ – BBC Radio Bristol) and online content with millions of views. He has been on bills alongside Russell Howard, Jon Richardson, Nish Kumar, Seann Walsh, Rosie Jones, Mark Watson, Russell Kane, Fin Taylor and Jayde Adams among many others and reached the final of First Laugh 2020, New UK Online Comedian of the Year 2020, and the top 12 of Jason Manford’s New Act Competition in 2019.

He also performed in two five-star runs at the Edinburgh Fringe with the Bristol Revunions (‘The entire ensemble is hilarious. Properly, effortlessly, hilarious’ – EdFringe Review). He founded and was resident MC of several of Bristol’s best comedy nights including This Next Act and White Bear Comedy Club.

The organisers of Southampton’s Open Mic Comedy Night have ensured that everyone will have a great night. From the moment you enter the venue, there are amenities and facilities that will make your evening complete.

There is a full bar serving drinks, as well as snacks on offer to keep you energised throughout the night. The sound system at The Attic Comedy Club is top-notch, with mics available for every act to use. This ensures even the audience members right at the back can hear every joke perfectly.

The seating area is also well arranged so that no one feels left out while they laugh along to the comedy acts. With all these facilities provided by the organiser, it’s easy to see why Southampton’s Open Mic Comedy Night has become such a popular event!

Tickets are £6 in advance or £10 at the door, with all of the proceeds from advanced sales equally split between the headline act, the MC and the individual comedy act that brings along the most supporters. 

We more than welcome audience participation, support and feedback too! Please don’t forget; Southampton’s leading and unique “open mic” comedy night for stand-up comedians is the first Thursday of the month; every month.

It’s proving a fantastic opportunity for new and fresh virgin comedians to perform alongside some very established headline acts, and for those more experienced to test out their new material. And all within a fun, friendly and inviting atmosphere. We very much look forward to it this month!
