Your Host: Geordie Geoff

Geordie Geoff, born and raised in the Northeast, is excited to bring his unique style of comedy to The Attic. With a reputation as a nice guy, he quickly puts his audience at ease through a laid-back and interactive approach to stand-up. No two performances are the same: Geoff leaves people yearning for more with his famous crowd work, always keeping the audience at the centre of his set.

Known for his perceptive descriptions, laser dot humour, and “say it like it is” attitude, Geoff is brutally funny. The front row becomes his playground, and its occupants become his closest friends.

After countless nights on the road, gigging in pubs and clubs across the country, Geoff’s show, ‘Catching The Custard,’ promises to be “an absolute banging” event in Southampton. Supported by a distinguished line-up, the audience can expect a hilarious experience with custard flying in their direction.

Geoff started his comedy journey at the Edinburgh Fringe and has recently provided support for renowned comedians like Michael Hackett, Steve Hughes, and Martin Westgate. Additionally, he is an established MC, having hosted Mark Simmons, Ben Norris, Dinesh Ranganathan, and Jack Skipper.

Red Richardson, one of the most exciting new Stand Up comedians in The UK, is embarking on his first-ever UK tour later this year. .

At the time of writing (12.38 pm on 08/11/23), his online ‘Stay Toxic’ sketches have already amassed over 30 million views. Additionally, catch him live at the time of writing (12.46 pm on 08/11/23) as he takes on the stage with his unique and original comedy.

Red Richardson has been featured on Ricky Gervais and Friends (Live), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), and The Red Richardson Special (YouTube).

Ben Norris at The Attic in Southampton

Ben is a highly experienced and hugely well-respected stand-up. He’s been performing comedy since 1993 and is renowned for his incredibly relaxed stage persona and his innate ability to improvise as well as deliver sharply crafted material.

Other interesting facts about Ben: he’s the cousin of actor Martin Freeman and also the father of triplets (2 girls and a boy).

Ben’s TV credits include: “Mock the Week” (BBC 1), “The Comedy Store” (Paramount and Comedy Central), “Never Mind the Buzzcocks” (BBC 2), “They think it’s all over” (BBC 2).

Ben has written and performed three solo shows at The Edinburgh Festival: ‘Sitting Room Only’ (1997), ‘Mr Ambiguousness’ (2013), and ‘Benny on the loose’ (2014).

Ben was Ed Byrne’s tour support for his 2013 UK tour and appeared at the Apollo, Hammersmith.

Ben also acted in a play developed with the ‘Comedians Theatre Company’ called ‘The Last Minutes,’ which was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in February 2014.


Ian Smith at The Attic in Southampton

Ian Smith is a multi-award-winning comedian, actor, and writer as seen on Comedy Central Live – and heard on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, The Now Show, and his own comedy-documentary Girl Stuck in Basketball Hoop. He co-hosts the Guardian-recommended Northern News podcast with Amy Gledhill.

Ian’s six Edinburgh Fringe shows have received critical acclaim, an Amused Moose Comedy Award, ThreeWeeks Editors’ Award, and transfers at Soho Theatre and international festivals. In 2015, he was also part of the hugely successful, multi-award-winning Richard Gadd – Waiting for Gaddot.

He has performed at the New Zealand Comedy Festival twice, including a set at the prestigious New Zealand Comedy Gala (TVNZ). This year, Ian was selected as part of Best of the Edinburgh Fest at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Besides being a talented comedian, Ian is also a skilled actor. He started as a lead in the BBC2 sitcom Popatron and has since starred alongside Katherine Parkinson in the Sky comedy Officially Special and had a leading role in the BBC1 drama, The Ark. Additionally, he played supporting roles in The Emily Atack Show, Siblings, Pls Like, and the BBC drama The Syndicate.

Ian was a regular writer on The News Quiz, The Now Show, and Newsjack (BBC Radio 4) and has also written for various other comedians, including Mock the Week. In 2022, he directed Amy Gledhill’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer-nominated show, The Girl Before The Girl You Marry. He has also written two of his web series – Hope You Come Up Here and the Chortle Award-nominated 100 Reasons to Hate…
