State Of Deceit at The Attic in Southampton

State of Deceit, hailing from South Wales, is a metalcore, thrash, and groove powerhouse.

Founded by Jonathan Russell, the band features Peter Scammell (vocals), Jonathan Russell (rhythm guitar), Gareth Jones (lead guitar), Davide Santini (bass, backing vocals), and Matthew Toner (drums). Influenced by Trivium, Pantera, Fit For a King, Machine Head, and Killswitch Engage, they dropped the EP “Retribution” in 2019, produced by Romesh Dodangoda.

The pandemic fuelled their explosive debut album, “Stalked by Daemons,” recorded at Sonic One Studios with producer Tim Hamill. Their record is a lightning bolt, showcasing their signature fast, heavy, and mosh-worthy sound.

State of Deceit is South Wales’ pride, a UK “must-see.” With electrifying shows, they redefine heavy music, infusing thunderous rhythms, bone-rattling growls, and anthemic choruses. Themes of mental health and politics resonate in their songs, all underpinned by emotion and occasional humour.

From stage to studio, State of Deceit exudes confidence. “Stalked by Daemons” proves their seasoned prowess, marking them as champions in the making.
